Where it started...

I’m Tara— the founder of LayerOne.

My story doesn’t start in a boardroom or a design studio. It starts on the snow — before logos, before gear choices, before I even knew this path existed.

The mountains were my playground and my classroom. From my earliest memories I was outside — ski boots clicking into bindings, breathing the cold Colorado air.

Winter wasn’t a season. It was home. And every run taught me one simple lesson: comfort, movement, and confidence start with the layer closest to your skin.

Built to create...

While skiing shaped my body and mind, other influences shaped how I see the world.

My mom was an entrepreneur long before startup culture made it cool. She taught me what it means to build something from nothing — to take risks, and believe in the value of hard work and authenticity. Her drive wasn’t about trends. It was about making space for something real.

That same spirit became part of LayerOne.

Identity in motion...

But there was another layer to my identity too — one rooted in art, self-expression, and community.

Tattoo culture wasn’t just something I admired. It was part of who I was — a way of storytelling, of wearing meaning on your skin rather than hiding it. I saw how artists translate experience, culture, and intention into visuals that are personal… powerful… unapologetic.

I wanted that energy on something you live in.

The foundation layer...

LayerOne isn’t just apparel. It’s a convergence of where movement meets meaning.

It’s performance that doesn’t hide personality.

It’s design that doesn’t erase identity.

It’s a foundation that supports your motion — and reflects your story.

We blend what we wear with who we are — honoring mountain heritage, tattoo artistry, and the fearless spirit of creativity.

Every stitch, every piece, every design feels intentional — because nothing worth wearing was ever accidental.

This is just the beginning

LayerOne exists for the ones who:

  • Live in motion
  • Carry stories on their skin
  • Care about quality without compromise
  • See performance as an extension of identity

And we’re just getting started.

Stay tuned.
